FAR SOUTH COAST MEN OF LEAGUE LAUNCH

The Launch of the Far South Coast Men of League Branch is fast approaching.  An interesting array of special guests, the opportunity to hear amusing stories from Rugby League Legend John ‘Bomber’ Peard, obtain some great rugby League memorabilia and the chance to mix with old team mates and opponents assures that a great night will be had by all attending.

The launch of the Far South Coast Men of League Branch will be held with a Gala Dinner at Club Sapphire, Merimbula, on Friday February 5th.  Special Guests attending the night include John ‘Bomber’ Peard, former St George great and current N.S.W and Kangaroo Team Manager Craig Young, current Dragons Neville Costigan and Beau Scott, and Canberra Raiders players Justin Carney and David Milne. More guests will be announced as the night approaches.
Ron Coote, Chairman of the Men of League Foundation’, who will be in attendance on the night, will be joined by C.R.L. General Manager Terry Quinn and President Jock Colley.  The N.R.L. and its clubs are strongly supporting the event and will ensure that a number of quality items are able to be obtained through fundraising activities on the night.

The Men of League Organisation was founded in July 2002. The Foundations charter is to assist those from all levels of the Rugby League Family who, for various reasons, have fallen on hard times.  Currently there are well over 6000 members.  The opportunity to have a branch on the Far South Coast is exciting and hopefully one that will be well supported by Rugby League followers.
The Night will provide all in the Rugby League family, both ladies and gentlemen, with the opportunity to be entertained by the very funny Peard as well as mix with the guests and former team mates.  Any person with an interest in Rugby League is strongly encouraged to attend the evening. Current and former players, at all levels, together with officials and supporters are all welcome to come along and enjoy the evening’s activities. People who have moved to the Coast after their involvement in the game elsewhere are most welcome to be involved.

Attendees who are not already members of the Men of League will be given the opportunity on the night.

Cost of the Dinner is $50 per person, which includes a 2 course meal and some refreshments. Dress coat and tie for the gentlemen.

Tickets can be purchased by contacting Club Sapphire on 6495 1306. People wishing to attend can organise a table or just book their ticket and a table will be organised for them.
